Dexter's New Toy (Is Bigger Than Him!)

I brought home a new toy for the boys, which they instantly destroyed...

Dexter seems to have taken a fondness to it though.

Dexter's 1st Birthday!

Dexter is finally a big boy so he got his own day at Petsmart (with Milo) and had a blast with all the other dogs. There happened to be a puppy class that let out as we were getting there so the boys had plenty of new friends to meet.

They got a pair of new toys, first the zebra.

And another lion. Both toys lasted about 15 minutes inside the house, stuffing everywhere.

You might think is was all Dexter...

But, you'd be wrong! Everybody wish Dexter a happy birthday!

No Toy Is Safe With Milo.

A trip to Target yesterday got Milo a new toy, one I thought might last him a bit. Not so much.

One day later and it's already torn to pieces all over the living room.

The Mezmorizing Duck.

I got a new toy for Niki's little nephew Jacob, and Milo didn't know what to think about it.

It dances, it squawks when you pick it up by the head, and Milo was obsessed.

So I put it on the counter (so he wouldn't chew it up) and I go about my business, and even 30 minutes later Milo won't stop staring at it. So I had to put it in the closet, so Milo just sat there waiting for his new friend to come back out...

Toys From Indy.

Milo loves balls and he loves toys, so this new toy should be perfect.

He wasn't sure what to do when it started squeaking back at him.

He quickly got over it, and got it squeaking over and over and over...

Milo's 1st Birthday! Picture Extravaganza!

February 20, 2007 was the day Milo and his 5 brothers were born, this makes Milo one years old today!

So Niki and I took Milo birthday shopping at Petsmart for some birthday shenanigans.

We let him go through all the isles so he could pick out the toy he wanted.

This one made a lot (too much) noise, and Milo would've de-stuffed it in 30 minutes anyways...

"Milo, there's no toys in there..."

This ball would've been a great toy, but just in the time he had it at the store it was looking pretty rough. Sorry Petsmart!

Now here's a toy; the tag says that it's virtually indestructible, with 3 times the stitches and reinforced seams. We'll see how long it lasts with Milo...

Milo did get to share his big day with a quite a big dog. Yeah, that's a dog...

We did see some others on our trip through the store, although these cats seemed way more interested in Milo than he did in the cats.

Some more shenanigans showed up when Milo went looking for a ball he 'misplaced'...

Nope. Not there.

I had to come to the rescue, just he could lose it again. It's just like having a kid...

Speaking of youth, no that's not a mirror, we ran into a 4 month old Westie while perusing the store.

Needless to say they got along great, if only they could keep their leashes untangled...

In my hand is a new tennis ball for Milo to fling about the house.

On the way home Milo decided to jump in the back seat.

It turns out his motive for getting back there was to play with his new toys...

Although he's a year old we've only had him for about 10 months or so, and boy has it been a blast. I started the blog on April 1st, 2007 when we first went down to the breeders and met Milo for the first time. But April 15th, 2007 is the first day Milo came home and the first official day of the blog. So keep an eye for April 15th this year, and not just for your taxes... I'll have a big Milo recap, going through all the crazy events and pictures that took place throughout the year in blogging everyday about Milo.

I want to thank everyone who comes and visits Milo (whether in person or on the web), I love that we get to share him with so many people everyday. I love getting all the comments and pictures/stories of the readers dogs too, so keep sending those in as well.

'Squeaks'.

Not many people know this but around the house Niki and I call Milo Squeaks. It started out because our pantry/coat closet (we don't have a lot of space in the apt.) squeaked when you opened the door. Since this is where we keep Milo's treats and bones, when he heard that door squeaking open he would come running. So we started calling him 'Squeaks' in light of his new habit.
Well I greased down the door, because the squeak was bad enough but we also don't need Milo running over every time we get our coats out.

As it turned out Squeaks was still the perfect nick-name for him though, because he makes it his mission in life to remove squeakers (and stuffing) from toys. Like this poor toy here, just two days old...

Toy Overload.

For X-Mas Milo got a big bag of new toys.

So instead of giving them to him one by one (as Niki suggested) I opted to just dump them all out on the floor.

It seems he didn't quiet know what to do with that many (new) toys at one time...

But rest assured, by now almost all of them have been de-stuffed, as is Milo's M.O.

Milo's First X-Mas Present.

Milo got his first Christmas present the other day from Paul and Mary Ann, Niki's parents. Its, well I don't know what it is; some sort of tennis ball with rope for hands and legs with an orange head... But hey, Milo loves to chew on it!

See, he's already happily destroying it!

Destruction In 30 Minutes Or Less.

The story of the Turtle begins at 8:45pm, when it was still in one piece.

Milo seems to like his new toy just fine as he runs off to go play with it.

So far so good, Milo and I play fetch for a while and during some tug-of-war action I heard the fatal ripping sound...

Boom, his nose is inside pulling out tuffs of stuffing .

This poor Turtle was decimated in less than 30 minutes from the time I brought it home. Don't bring any loved stuffed animals near Milo.
